Anthurium painted Picasso in a ceramic pot
The Anthurium comes from the tropical rain forests of Central and South America and belongs to the Araceae family, which also includes the Dieffenbachia, the Philodendron and the Spathiphyllum among others. The Anthurium should be kept at a temperature of ± 20 ºC (room temperature) all year round. Make sure the Anthurium gets plenty of light but do not place it in direct sunlight. Water the plant with softened (non-calciferous) water. Ideally watering should be done with luke warm water to prevent dry leaf tips and rusting on the leaves and flowers. Make sure that the potting compost is kept moist but not too wet. Feed the plant with plant food once every ten days from March to August. To keep the plant fresh the leaves can be sprayed with softened (non-calciferous) water, but keep the flowers dry to prevent rusting on the petals. The plant can be repotted into a larger pot once every two to three years.
The best tips for caring for your plant:
Good light, but no bright sunlight. Ideal temperature 18 – 22 ºC. Keep damp, compost must not dry out. Spray with water once a month. Apply fertiliser once a month. Remove dead heads of flowers. Perennial plant.
This Anthurium is proposed in a ceramic pot of 12 cm and the height of the plant is 40 cm.
