Vriesea in a glass pot anise colored
The Vriesea originates from the tropical part of Central and South America and belongs to the genus Bromeliaceae (Bromelia). Give this unusual plant a lightly shaded spot during the summer and a slightly lighter spot in the winter. Protect the Vriesea from direct sunlight. The ideal temperature is between 16 and 20 ºC. Pour lukewarm (calcium-free) water into the funnel, which is formed by its leaves. Empty this funnel at least twice a week so that it can be given fresh water. Give it some nutrients once every four weeks during the period between March and August. To keep the plant in top condition, it may be sprayed regularly, but only during the summer.
